Saks Fifth Avenue Benefit
Children's Museum San Diego to Benefit from Saks Fifth Avenue's "Wild About Cashmere" Promotion

September 7, 2005—The Children’s Museum/Museo de los Niños San Diego will be helping Saks Fifth Avenue add a unique flair to their “Wild About Cashmere” promotion. Eight fiberglass goats, representing the “Wild About Cashmere” event have been painted by San Diego local artists—Windy Bravo, Alberto Caro, Anais Caro, Pola Caro, Pete Evaristo, Ybeth Meraz, Leslie Nemour, Roberto Salas and Susan Yamagata. Each life-sized goat will be transformed into an enchanting work of art. These goats will be sold at a silent auction at Saks Fifth Avenue, Fashion Valley Mall starting Thursday, September 22, 2005 through Saturday, September 24, 2005. Proceeds will support the construction of the new downtown Children’s Museum San Diego.

At 3pm on Thursday, September 22nd, Kimberly King (NBC 7/39) will be reading an exclusive new children’s book, Cashmere If You Can, published by Harper-Collins. Come meet Joe Busalacchi, Executive Chef of the Busalacchi Restaurants and sample authentic Italian bruschetta, gelato and wine. Enjoy the extraordinary music of KAMAU. Additional information can be found on the Children’s Museum website at childrensmuseumsd.org or on Saks Fifth Avenue’s website at wildaboutcashmere.com or saks.com.

The Children’s Museum/Museo de los Niños San Diego is a non-profit arts/education program where children and their families have been learning through the arts for over 24 years. We are currently in the process of building the Muse, our new facility. The final phase of construction begins this fall, opening early 2008. Designed by Rob Wellington Quigley, it will be downtown’s first major “green” building. For further information, visit our website at childrensmuseumsd.org.
