What
Los Niños Pintores de Tijuana 2 (Young Artists of Tijuana 2) is the most recent in a series of exhibits created under the artistic supervision of Professor Ignacio Hábrika of the Taller de Arte Infantil in Tijuana. Professor Hábrika works with children ages six to thirteen over the course of a year to create impressive works of art for exhibit across Mexico.
Professor Hábrika stated that “(The exhibit) is an example of creative freedom; it is the clear and sincere voice of children in this crucial stage of life in which fantasy and imagination interweave freely with truth and reality.”
The Children’s Museum is currently closed for construction of its new facility, but continues to host exhibits and activities at locations throughout San Diego. Thanks to City Arts San Diego, Sentre Partners, and the Downtown Partnership, Los Niños Pintores will be on exhibit in the lobby of the NBC 7/39 offices in downtown San Diego the entire month of October. An opening reception will be held for the children on Sunday, October 12 at 1:30pm at Horton Square.
The exhibit has toured Mexico and Cuba thanks to the support of the Institute Municipal de Arte y Cultura of Mexico and Instituto de Cultura de Baja California.
