Children’s Museum Announces Art Auction to Benefit the Museum School

June 7, 2007—The Children’s Museum/Museo de los Niños San Diego has announced the approaching Art Auction fundraiser that will benefit the Museum School, a component of the Children’s Museum San Diego.

The Art Auction will take place on Saturday, June 23, from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM at the Kava Lounge studio space. Participants will have the opportunity to purchase sculptures and paintings by featured artists and the Museum School students at a silent and live auction.

Guests will enjoy music by Merge Life & Music, as well as scrumptious organic refreshments from Kava Lounge. The live auction will begin at 8:15 PM.

Featured artists include Ida Bagus Oka, Mario Blanco, Deborah Brenner, Ben Darby, Matt Devine, Theresa Vandenberg Donche, Gretchen Frazier, Branan Freeman, Amber George, Joy Houston, James Ivey, Lindy Ivey, Wendell Kling, Joshua Krause, Ame Parsley, Grant Pecoff, Heather Pieters, Jason Sherry, Brian Somers, Perry Vasquez, Elizabeth Washburn, James Watts, Breck Woolsey, Wayan, Brandon Ziebold and many more.

Through its mission of learning for life, the Museum School celebrates, nurtures and enhances the abilities of all participants through experiential, project-based learning. With the integration of the arts into the curriculum and by using the wealth of resources at the Children’s Museum and the San Diego region, the school provides direct learning opportunities in an intercultural community.

The Museum School encourages children to become responsible citizens, productive workers, creative and healthy individual, problem solvers and self-directed learners. Project-based departments and enriching classes, such as art, music, sewing, kung fu, movement and media arts are integral to the regular curriculum.
