April 22, 2005—Children and families are invited to the Children’s Museum San Diego's first KidsZest Family Arts Day on Saturday, April 30th from 10am to 4pm at Horton Square (225 Broadway in downtown San Diego). One of the only festival events of its kind that focuses on youth and creativity, KidZest is also a way to bring awareness to the unique Children’s Museum, which is building an inspiring new facility in downtown San Diego. Admission to the event is free.
The fun-filled community event will offer kids a clay play station where they can sculpt to their heart’s content, create "food" out of colorful Playdoh at the Culinary Culture Cart, handcraft original art books, decorate cookies, and turn their hair into a “crazy” work of art. Music and dance performances include the Gamelon (Balinese) Music and Dance Ensemble from the Museum School and Eveoke Dance Theatre Youth Group, performing “Hip Hop is Everywhere.” Guests can enter drawings to win prizes that include family passes to museums, stays at hotels, dinners and more. Food will be available at affordable prices and free parking is available at Horton Square.
KidsZest Family Arts Day is sponsored by American Assets Realty Group. For more information call 619 233 8792 or visit childrensmuseumsd.org.
