Treat Your Valentine to a Romantic Evening of Classical Music
February 8, 2004—Italian pianist, Alessio Averone, performs a night of enchanting and passionate classical music in a pre-Valentine’s Day benefit concert for the Children’s Museum San Diego. Filled with songs of passion and set against the romantic backdrop of beautiful downtown Coronado, Noche Apasionada is the perfect night for San Diego’s sweethearts.
Born in Vercilli, Italy, Averone started his formal musical training at age five after demonstrating great talent and musical ability. He has studied with Aldo Ciccolini, Jean Micault and Boris Block, and graduated top of his class with honors from the Conservatory of Turin. Currently, Averone is residing in San Diego while pursuing his Doctorate at the University of Southern California with full scholarship under Dr. Stewart Gordon. Having performed as a soloist and with orchestras throughout Europe, he recently debuted with the San Diego Symphony, making a name for himself in San Diego. Averone is considered to be one of the rising stars of his generation. Always playing with the perfect combination of sensitivity and virtuosity, Averone continues to delight audiences with his powerful presence as a performer. On this night, Averone pairs himself with an extraordinary repertoire of composers to present Noche Apasionada.
The performance will be preceded by a reception of wine, appetizers and chocolates, as well as the opportunity to bid on a variety of Valentine’s-themed items at the silent auction. Guests can bid on and win an assortment of baskets, excursions and other gifts for their sweetheart. After the show, guests can walk the romantic streets of downtown Coronado, dine at local restaurants or take star-gazing strolls along Coronado’s famous crystalline beaches.
Seating is limited, and tickets can be purchased in advance by calling 619 233 8792. Tickets are $50 per person, and all funds will go to support bi-national programming at the new Children’s Museum San Diego.
