Internship Program
The New Children’s Museum (NCM) is a dynamic new model of a museum that celebrates children, the visual arts and living artists. The Museum, an environmentally sustainable building designed by San Diego-based architect Rob Wellington Quigley, provides a dynamic, playful public space and community center for children and families—a place to experience exciting art exhibitions, hands-on studio projects, performances, birthday parties, camps and educational programs.

NCM offers paid summer internships for college-level undergraduate and graduate students interested in contemporary art and working with children, ages toddler to teen.

NCM interns will have the opportunity to work in the Museum’s three focused programs areas--galleries, studios, and the Arts Education Center classrooms. The weekly round table discussions with the senior management team will allow interns to question and learn about museum administration, operations and programming.

The program runs from June 16 through August 15; changes to these dates may be considered on a case by case basis. Internships require a minimum commitment of 25 hours per week. To apply, please send the following information to jnoland@thinkplaycreate.org (no calls please) by May 2, 2008.

  • Résumé
  • Cover letter explaining your interest in the program and what you hope to gain from working at The New Children’s Museum
